ABC is spreading out premieres over more than a month this year, starting with 20/20 and reality hit Dancing with the Stars, ending in late October with Wicked City.
The Muppets will serve as lead-in on Tuesdays to Fresh Off the Boat and the results show for Dancing with the Stars, before a packed Wednesday night of four half-hour comedies in a row before Nashville.
Shondaland’s TGIT stays intact with Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder on Thursday nights. Friday night comedy Dr. Ken waits until October for its debut, as does Wicked City, which will be ABC’s last new premiere on Oct. 27.
New Sunday night dramas Quantico and Blood & Oil avoid the Emmys over on Fox to premiere one week later on Sept. 27.
