Based on Kathleen Barber’s novel “Are You Sleeping,” the series follows podcaster Poppy Parnell (Spencer) who reopens the murder case that made her famous after new evidence surfaces.
That includes coming face to face with Warren Cave (Paul), the man she may have mistakenly helped send to prison.
“I helped seal Warren’s fate with a series of articles, but is there an innocent man in prison and did I lead that charge?” she asks in the spot.
Truth Be Told also stars Elizabeth Perkins, Michael Beach, Mekhi Phifer, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, and Ron Cephas Jones. It’s written by showrunner Nichelle Tramble Spellman (The Good Wife) who executive produces alongside Spencer’s Orit Entertainment, Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter’s Hello Sunshine, and Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping for Chernin Entertainment.
Apple TV+ launches on Nov. 1 with titles like The Morning Show, Dickinson and For All Mankind. All 10 episodes of Truth Be Told premiere Dec. 6.
