Silver Spring, Md.-based creative agency AlterEgo incorporated stunning portraits of the cast of Nat Geo’s latest docuseries, Life Below Zero: Next Generation, ahead of the show’s return on Tuesday, Jan. 18 at 9/8 c.
The portraits helped Nat Geo and AlterEgo achieve their goals for the campaign: introduce the cast and remind the audience of how difficult life can be in the frozen Alaskan outback. The show, a spinoff of Nat Geo’s popular and award-winning Life Below Zero, takes the challenge of living in the Alaskan wilderness to the next level as it follows a group of people who have only recently decided to try this hardscrabble way of life. The series is shot by the BBC.
The AlterEgo team—including Executive Creative Director and Partner Heather Roymans, Senior Editor and Partner Justin Kanner and Associate Creative Director Erica Kern—wove in some of the series’ most chilling moments with the portraits. They then paired those visuals with a library track, discovered by AlterEgo Writer/Producer Megan Gygax and executed by Tyler Proctor, to maintain the piece’s drama without sound bites or narration.
