In case anyone needed further proof that the overnight Nielsen numbers no longer provide an accurate portrait of a show’s viewership, look no further than the newly released 30-day numbers from this season’s premiere week, which showed huge bumps for even some shows that are currently on deathwatch.

CBS crowed Friday that “Hostages,” which has been almost universally-pegged for eventual cancellation after disappointing performance, saw a 110 percent ratings jump when 30-day multi-platform playback was taken into account. While the Dylan McDermott-led drama posted a lower-than-expected 7.41 million viewers in the fast national numbers after its broadcast premiere, CBS now says that the audience is actually 15.54 million people. Chuck Lorre’s new sitcom “Mom” and the Robin Williams comedy “The Crazy Ones” saw similarly large jumps.

“Mom” saw a 72 percent rise, from 7.99 million viewers to 13.77 million. “The Crazy Ones” jumped 52 percent to 24 million viewers.
