Zeebox laid the groundwork for its new environment by pre-posting 4,000 rooms users can visit. The company will keep a list of the top 50 most-visited rooms at any given time.
Early investors in the Zeebox rooms include Bravo, whose “Real Housewives” TV room will debut on June 24, in conjunction with the “Real Housewives of Orange County: 100th Episode Special.” On that date, visitors to the Zeebox room will be able to interact with show stars Jo de la Rosa, Gretchen Rossi and Tamra Barney as well as host Andy Cohen.
It is free to set up a room, and anyone can do it, though Zeebox differentiates network-created rooms from other rooms by labeling them “official.”

Brief Take: Zeebox makes money by selling advertising synched to run either during commercial breaks or designed to run while the programming airs. The company is counting on its rooms to build viewer engagement.
