In Fox’s The Last Man on Earth, Phil Miller (Will Forte) discovers that he just may be the last of his kind. But according to Fox’s new spot above, he seems fairly adjusted to his fate.
In “Hello, God?” Miller weighs the pros and cons of his situation. He can do whatever he wants (bowl with expensive cars, fill a kiddie pool with margaritas, steal priceless paintings), but “there are some drawbacks. The whole women situation is the craps.”
The new comedy, set to premiere Sunday, March 1, was created by Forte along with The LEGO Movie’s Chris Miller and Phil Lord (yes, the lead character is a creation of Forte’s and an amalgamation of the two names). The Last Man on Earth starts in 2020 when a virus wipes out the world’s population, leaving Phil Miller to fend for himself as the only man around. He travels the country in search of fellow survivors, but ends up back in his hometown of Tucson when his search proves fruitless.
In a previously released promo, “The World’s Greatest Everything,” he shows off his skills as the world’s greatest athlete, driver, marksman and lover (because he might be the world’s only athlete, driver, marksman and lover, but still).
The spots above were created by Open Road Entertainment in collaboration with Fox.
