TV is not most people’s focus in the sunny, steamy month of July. Instead, happy hours on decks and weekends near water fill people’s free time and TV is a second thought. Meanwhile, Emmy voting has concluded so premium networks, for the most part, are keeping their powder dry, while broadcast networks stock up on reality series (Big Brother marathon, anyone?) and celebrity-hosted game shows. All that said, there are still some fun things to check out during summer’s hottest month.
Obviously, the long July 4 weekend is made for binging the final two episodes of season four of Netflix’s Stranger Things. But then what? How about Chris Pratt (or CP to his true friends) and Taylor Kitsch in Prime Video’s action-packed The Terminal List? True reality fans might get into CBS’ The Challenge: USA, which features reality stars from across the genre, including veterans of Survivor, Big Brother, Amazing Race and Love Island.
If none of that gets you excited, it’s not long until August when dramas such as the aforementioned Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, premiere as well as Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, starring Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo; Disney Plus’ Andor, featuring Diego Luna reprising his role from Rogue One; and the third and final season of Apple TV Plus’ See, starring Jason Momoa. After that, fall TV is right around the corner.
In the meantime, here’s everything Brief is checking out in July:
July 1: Netflix’s Stranger Things 4 (part two of season 4)
