We Bare Bears test their skills for the new video games “ARMS” and “Splatoon 2,” in two branded spots created through a marketing partnership between Cartoon Network and Nintendo.

The co-created original animated videos mark the first time Cartoon Network has leveraged the show’s IP to develop content with an advertiser.

“As the savvy bears often engage with technology on the show, the Nintendo Switch console integration is a natural fit for their animated world,” Cartoon Network said in a statement.

Each spot opens with25 seconds of custom animation of the bears interacting with the video game, followed by 35 seconds of real gameplay footage moderated by Cartoon Network announcer Amir Talai.

Cartoon Network also created three “Bear Tip” videos for its app that open with animations of the bears, followed by gameplay footage that provides fans with tips and tricks when playing.

Turner Ignite’s Content Partnerships team partnered with Nintendo and the Cartoon Network creative team to develop the campaign. The custom spots were scripted, produced and animated by Cartoon Network, working closely with We Bare Bears creator Daniel Chong.
