Kerry Taylor has been named Viacom International Media Networks’ first chief marketing officer. Her first task on the job will be to rebrand the company’s recently acquired Channel 5.

Jo Bacon, MTV UK VP, marketing and communications, will add oversight of marketing at Channel 5, and will lead the planning and execution of the rebrand, reporting to Taylor, the company said Thursday.

The rebrand is expected to be completed and on-air by the end of this year.

Both women will work closely with Channel 5 Chief Operating Officer Paul Dunthorne and Programming Director Ben Frow. Taylor will report to David Lynn, president of VIMN UK, Australia and Central Europe. Besides overseeing the Channel 5 rebrand, she’ll also have marketing oversight of VIMN’s pay-TV brands — Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Channel, Spike and BET — in more than 30 countries, including the UK and Ireland, Russia, Hungary and Australia.

Prior to this, Taylor was senior VP and general manager at MTV for VIMN UK. Taylor has been at VIMN since she joined as VP, marketing, creative and consumer for MTV UK & Ireland in September 2007.

Before that, she was director of marketing and on-air for Living TV, Bravo, Challenge and Trouble at Virgin Media. While there, she played a key role in repositioning Living TV.

Bacon joined VIMN as VP, marketing and communications for MTV UK in January 2012. Prior to that, she was head of content and client services director at Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R from 2003-2011.
