The broadcaster welcomes The Muppets back to TV this fall, but actually most of ABC’s schedule this fall looks unchanged – for good reason.
The network’s Wednesday comedy block was solid last year, and Thursday nights remain intact because of the huge success ABC saw with its TGIT campaign.
For now, only a few updates on the schedule throughout the week, starting with Tuesdays which not only see The Muppets big return to TV, but will end the night with an FBI training series called Quantico.
Ken Jeong’s Dr. Ken will join ABC’s Friday night comedy lineup to be paired with Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing.
ABC also ordered a total of six new dramas for 2015-16, including one more from Shondaland called The Catch.
Others include the Biblical saga Of Kings and Prophets, Oil starring Don Johnson and Chace Crawford, a missing child who reappears in The Family, an ‘80s LA story called Wicked City and Tuesday’s Quantico.
Some of the recently announced series, like Uncle Buck with an all-African-American cast, are being saved for midseason.
