For years, NBC Thursday were synonymous with the Must-See TV comedy block. At ABC, could we be seeing the birth of Must-Shonda TV?

Shonda Rhimes, the creator of hit dramas “Scandal” and “Grey’s Anatomy” will get another hour on Thursday nights once the 2014 season kicks off in the fall, meaning that Thursday Primetime is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shondaland.

ABC announced Rhimes’ total takeover of Thursdays as it unveiled its new fall schedule at its annual Upfront presentation for advertisers on Tuesday in New York City.

“Scandal” is moving to 9pm on Thursday when it returns in the fall, serving as a launch pad for new Rhimes drama “How to Get Away with Murder” starting Viola Davis. That bumps “Grey’s Anatomy” up to 8pm.

The news comes on the same day that ABC Studios/Disney has closed a new deal with Rhimes that keeps her attached to the company through May 2018.

Elsewhere on the schedule, “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” jumps to Tuesdays at 9pm, leading in to the new Ioan Gruffudd-starrer “Forever,” about an immortal medical examiner in New York City. “S.H.I.E.L.D.” is the only returning series on Tuesdays, with new comedies “Selfie” and “Manhattan Love Story” airing at 8pm and 8:30pm.

Two other comedies featuring minority leads dot the ABC schedule: “Cristela,” about an ambitious Mexican-American law student will air Fridays at 8:30pm, behind Tim Allen’s “Last Man Standing,” while “Black-ish” about an African-American family that is balancing cookie-cutter suburban life with their cultural heritage will air Wednesdays at 9:30pm.

ABC Entertainment boss Paul Lee played up the cultural diversity of the Alphabet Network lineup for 2014-15, saying ABC “wanted to reflect the changed face of America.”
