Robert Rodriguez’s “From Dusk Till Dawn” will take part in this year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios, adding to a roster of participating shows such as “The Walking Dead.”
The deal includes both locations: Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Resort Orlando, and includes a maze based on the El Rey series. Park visitors entering the maze go into the Twister, a nightclub filled with vampires led by their queen Santanico Pandemonium.
“Robert Rodriguez’s genius in pushing the boundaries of the horror genre is a perfect pairing for Halloween Horror Nights as we continue to intensify our event with the most credible horror voices within the entertainment industry,” said Halloween Horror Nights executive producer John Murdy. “This radical new maze will give fans of ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ an unprecedented opportunity to experience the show’s Mesoamerican mythology, and will come to life with the same attention to detail and production value that Robert’s work is known for.”
“From Dusk Till Dawn” (the TV show) launched in March but was originally a film by Rodriguez that debuted in 1996. Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights kicks off Sept. 19, running through Nov. 1. “The Walking Dead” returns to the event for its third year with its biggest maze yet, based on the show’s fourth season. Six other mazes are planned, as well as “scare zones,” stage shows and interactive events, but no further details have been announced yet.
