Yuri Lowenthal (Marvel’s Spider-man, Young Justice, Ben 10, Naruto) stars as a spaceship pilot in a new interactive sci-fi series Orbital Redux on Nerdist and Legendary Digital Networks’ streaming service Alpha.
In the show, Lowenthal plays Zachery “Max” Levodolinksy, a former astronaut navigating life in 2050 after NASA runs out of funding, removing all the thrilling, heroic jobs. With autonomous spacecraft banned, humanity must rely on human pilots.
Now, following 10 years of thankless orbital transpo, Max must train a new pilot (Yasmine Al-Bustami), only to discover she’s meant to be his replacement. When the latest redux goes wrong, they have no choice but to work together if they want to survive.
Additional series cast includes David Blue (SGU Stargate Universe, Ugly Betty), Bruno Oliver (A Girl Named Jo, Colony), Natalie Whittle (Part Timers, Much Ado About Nothing), Nardeep Khurmi (Jane the Virgin, Pagg), Marc Anthony Samuel (A Crooked Somebody, Rumor from Ground Control), and Sven Holmberg (Fameless, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2).
In addition to this main narrative, members of the service can help shape live broadcast of the storyline as the series unfolds, voting on everything from actors’ decisions to presenting new challenges for them to solve in real time.
The eight-episode series streams weekly starting September 27 at 6 p.m. New Alpha members can use the code ORBITAL for a 60-day trial.
