To the delight of TV viewers and comedy lovers everywhere, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are back this year for NBC’s 71st Annual Golden Globes on Sunday. To celebrate the great honor they are doing the HFPA, the two of them got together to preview the telecast through short on-air teasers that explore the upcoming show (we hope) and show off the talents of NBC’s favorite comedic actresses.

First, Fey and Poehler planned to preview the opening song they wrote for the Golden Globes (above) until they get distracted with the opening high note. Next, they set out to prove that this year will be “more glamorous and grand than ever before,” which explains their plan to host the whole show from atop a classy white grand piano. Finding a comfortable position appears to be a difficulty, but they’re seasoned pros so they get it all worked out.

Taking a step back to that much-anticipated opening number, another short teaser features Poehler using her feet at the piano while Fey shows off her dance skills that, in true onstage tradition, involve plenty of jazz hands and kicks.

In a later sneak peek at the awards show, NBC released a longer video that resembled more of a behind-the-scenes spot, using clips from last year’s show alongside an interview with the two hosts. They describe the event where “people wear pretty outfits and sometimes movie stars get drunk and then they talk,” according to Fey, and couldn’t be more excited for it.

Brief Take: By bringing back popular hosts Fey and Poehler for 2014-15, NBC heightens the Golden Globes brand as the awards show season gets more crowded for broadcasters.
