Wealth, power and control come to a head in USA’s Damnation, focusing on the conflict and struggle between big money and the downtrodden in what’s described as “an epic saga about the secret history of the 1930’s American heartland.”
God and greed, charlatans and prophets all play a role in the drama premiering November 7.
“You may think that you’re living in hard times or depression,” according to the trailer. “Truth is, you’re living in a war. It is a war between the people that live in this country, and those that need to control it.”
The series stars Seth Davenport as Killian Scott, a man masquerading as a small town Iowa preacher in the hopes of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. Focused on his mission, he is unaware that an industrialist tycoon has hired a professional strikebreaker named Creeley Turner (Logan Marshall-Green, Quarry) to stop the uprising by any means necessary.
But unknown to those around them, these two men already share a secret bloody past.
Damnation is from executive producers Tony Tost (Longmire), James Mangold (Logan), Guymon Casady (Game of Thrones) and Daniel Rappaport (Office Space) on behalf of Entertainment 360.
The pilot was written and created by Tost and directed by and executive produced by David MacKenzie (Hell or High Water).
