The CW’s digital network, CW Seed, goes live today with programming about a couple who got “drunk married,” a couple on separate European honeymoons, ghost-hunting college students and an animated, under-employed (and bitter) 20-something.
The new series “Backpackers,” “The P.E.T. Squad Files” and “Gallery Mallory” join a third season of “Husbands,” now exclusively available on CW Seed. A new digital series “L.A. Rangers” will join the lineup this fall.
According to CW Seed, it sees itself as a place “where we blur the line between television and the web and experiment with high-quality original series in smaller sizes.”
Brief Take: Instead of expanding The CW‘s already wide-reaching online and social presence, it’s created an entirely new space to experiment with new series and give the audience a separate outlet for content.
