The Discovery brand is furthering its successful celebrity partnerships with new mysteries from Wendy Williams and Barbara Walters.

Discovery Networks President Henry Schleiff announced the many deals on Thursday at the TCA summer press tour in Los Angeles, presenting his plans for Discovery’s channels Investigation Discovery, Discovery Family and Destination America.

Its Investigation Discovery channel will debut Barbara Walters Presents American Scandals, a series where Walters revisits sensational news stories, including interviews she conducted in the past and her perspective on each story now.

Wendy Williams will host Investigation Discovery’s Death by Gossip with Wendy Williams, a collection of crimes fueled by gossip and false information.

Williams’ series will debut this October, with Walters to follow in November. The network will also roll out a new series with Chris Hansen.

On a lighter note, Discovery Family Channel has added more animal programming, bringing in Betty White to host Pawgust, a month-long event on the channel starting Aug. 1 featuring series, specials and films centered on animals.

The programming event will also feature Discovery Family’s premiere of its film From Wags to Riches with trainer Bill Berloni.

And perhaps most intriguing of all, Destination America will make its mark on Halloween this year with the first live televised exorcism. Airing Oct. 30, it’s being called Exorcism: Live! and will bring a team to the house that inspired the movie The Exorcist to “rid the lurking spirits and demons that inhabit this home,” according to the network.

UP also took the stage Thursday to announce its addition of all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls, which will begin airing on the network this fall. The series originally aired on The WB, ending in 2007.
