NBC is saying goodbye to Parenthood‘s fast-talking, ever-interrupting Braverman clan on Thursday night after six seasons on the air. Brief is celebrating Throwback Thursday with a look back at how the network promoted the family drama during its six-year run.

The first trailer (above) for the show tied it to the success of fan favorite Friday Night Lights—another critical fave produced by Jason Katims—as well as the producing firepower from boldfaced names Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. It also features original cast member Maura Tierney, who had to drop out of the project after the pilot because of her diagnosis with breast cancer. Lauren Graham would replace her for the duration of the series.

Season two emphasized the quirky, family relations and the friendship between the generations:
