Based on DC Comics characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Syfy’s new series Krypton is set two generations before the destruction of the Man of Steel’s home planet. It follows Superman’s grandfather, Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.
The series also stars Georgina Campbell. She plays Lyta Zod, daughter of a general who is having a forbidden romance with Seg-El.
David S. Goyer is executive producing the drama via his Phantom Four banner. Sleepy Hollow‘s Damian Kindler is executive producing and serving as showrunner. Colm McCarthy will direct.
Cuffe joins a cast that also includes British actress Georgina Campbell, who will play Lyta Zod, a member of Krypton’s military caste and the daughter of a general, Alura Zod. Lyta Zod serves as a cadet — and has also been having a clandestine, forbidden romance with Seg-El (Cuffe).
The series premieres Wednesday, March 21 on Syfy.
