Fans of NBC’s iconic sitcom Seinfeld will soon have the chance to travel back in time 30 years to return to the show’s premiere on July 5, 1989, long before the series exploded into the comedy mega-hit we know it as today.
Thanks to a partnership between experiential agency Superfly and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, fans will be able to immerse themselves into the world of Jerry (Jerry Seinfeld), George (Jason Alexander), Kramer (Michael Richards) and Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) via The Seinfeld Experience.
“Because I am Seinfeld, for a long time I was the only person to actually have the Seinfeld experience. Now, these crazy Superfly people are going to make it so lots of people can interact with our silly 90’s TV show,” said Jerry Seinfeld in a statement. “All I can say is, in the general context of the world we live in, this now seems completely normal.”
The immersive, interactive exhibit will allow fans to jump back into the series via set recreations, iconic costumes (remember that puffy shirt?), memorabilia and props as well as previously unseen content. Fans also will be able to shop for limited edition and exclusive merchandise.
“We’re thrilled to bring The Seinfeld Experience to life in an innovative way, combining nostalgia with immersive entertainment, and getting fans closer than ever before to the show and its beloved characters,” said Jonathan Mayers, co-founder, Superfly, in a statement. “A show as iconic as Seinfeld should be celebrated with an experience that truly matches its legacy and enduring influence.”
The Seinfeld Experience will be available seven days a week starting this fall and running through February 2020 in Manahttan’s Gramercy neighborhood. Fans can sign up and get tickets at theseinfeldexperience.com.
The immersive exhibit is the latest collaboration between Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Superfly. Superfly—live-entertainment producers and co-creators of large-scale music festivals such as Bonnaroo and Outside Lands—launched its comedy festival, Clusterfest, in 2017. The inaugural Clusterfest, which included Jerry Seinfeld as a headliner, served as a sort of precursor, featuring a full re-creation of Seinfeld’s iconic apartment as well as a facade of Monk’s Cafe and Soup stand.
