Hoping that that Outlander wasn’t the only one to benefit by the free preview strategy, Starz is offering up its next original series to stream for free ahead of its official premiere.
The LeBron James-produced Survivor’s Remorse debuts Saturday, Oct. 4, but its first two episodes will be available to stream for the week leading up to that date. The half-hour comedy can be seen via Starz.com, the Starz Play app, the show’s Twitter and Facebook pages, its YouTube channel, Starz on demand, as well as Amazon Instant Video, XBox video and Vudu.
Survivor’s Remorse follows a young basketball player into stardom, and tells the story of his opportunistic, supportive and perhaps overbearing family as they follow him into fame as well.

Brief Take: The preview method worked for Starz’s recent original series, Outlander, when it set a multiplatform ratings record for the channel this summer. The series was renewed for a second season after only one episode. The channel is utilizing the same technique in order to lure fans to the show as well as the Starz brand.
