Comic book creator and legend Stan Lee narrates Netflix’s new trailer for Marvel’s The Defenders which debuted Thursday at San Diego Comic-Con.

The minute-long spot shows the former SVP of Marvel Comics cruising around New York City in a limo, catching glimpses of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist as they fight crime.

“It’s not about being powerful,” Lee says in the voiceover. “But finding your calling when you least expect it. They show us it’s okay to be vulnerable no matter how tough you are. Because even though they’re heroes, they’re still human.”

Netflix has portrayed the gritty, flawed side of being a superhero in its previous series starring Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Finn Jones (Iron Fist). They are all featured in The Defenders, along with a surprise addition who appears at the end of the trailer as a footage cuts to a cameo of The Punisher (Jon Bernthal).

“Looks like I got here just in time,” he says.

Marvel’s The Defenders premieres August 18.
