Last year’s Shark Week was the King of Summer, but it looks like Shark Week 2015 is the king of ratings.
Boasting 2.5 million viewers on average for the week, Discovery is claiming a record high with adults 25-54. Only 2013 beats out its weekly average with 2.56 viewers.
July 6-12 was also Discovery’s most-watched week on record, with nearly 2.4 million viewers in primetime. This year’s Shark Week was an experiment in scheduling, moving the theme week from its spot in August up to July in order to take advantage of the Fourth of July holiday.
Shark Week’s live+ same day ratings were up three percent this year to 1.46.
The most-watched show for the week this year was Super Predator, which reached 3.35 million viewers Wednesday night.
