PromaxBDA: The Conference 2015 is full of sessions and panels about how to create the best work in television marketing.
From June 9-11, some of those sessions feature the year’s best work across rebrands, idents, promos and non-TV brands, set to inspire attendees in their own creative spaces.
So as you get ready for The Conference 2015, make a note of just a few of this year’s sessions where work across all disciplines will challenge and inspire you.
1. Brand/Rebrand Highlights
Brand/Rebrand sessions are split up into two days at The Conference. On Wednesday, the first session is at 2:30 p.m. with Hallmark Movies and Mysteries, Disney and Fox International Channels.
Crown Media’s Susanne McAvoy and Houndstooth’s Elaine Cantwell will speak about the refresh for Hallmark’s renewed movie channel. Ron Pomerantz will present the global redesign of media giant Disney and Fox International Channels’ Liz Dolan will be joined by Corina Capuano to address rebranding a channel that spans more than 120 countries around the world.
Thursday’s session presents Centric, ProSiebenSat.1 TV and Boomerang at 11:15 a.m.
First up, BET’s Michaela Davis and Josh Pelzek will explain with Gretel’s Lauren Hartstone how BET’s Centric channel became “The First Network Designed for Black Women.” Next, Creative Solutions’ Florian Hausberger has a modern and multiplatform take on the new ProSiebenSat.1 TV, before Cartoon Network’s Jacob Escobedo and Susan Shipsky show off the new and improved Boomerang channel with Art&Graft’s Will Mercer and Mike Moloney.
2. State of Design
One of the favorites at PromaxBDA: The Conference, State of Design presents some of the year’s best work and it’s not all from television.
On Wednesday at 4:45 p.m., Stash Media’s Stephen Price jam packs his presentation with commercials, music videos, short film and video game work into 45 minutes, spotting overall trends that should inspire any industry creative.
3. PromaxBDA Hot Spots Showcase
Join ANATOMY’s Mark Valentine and Science Channel’s Dan Bragg on Thursday at 10 a.m. for an entertaining, fast-paced look at the last of year of promo work. Get inspired by your colleagues and competitors while discovering trends you may have missed.
4. The Art of Title Design
Ellen and Lynda Kahn of TWINART, Inc. moderate a session with some of the best title designers in the industry. Learn how creative directors from Elastic (Patrick Clair), Imaginary Forces (Dan Gregoras and Grant Lau) and FX Networks (Synderela Peng) create their award-winning main titles on Thursday at 12:15 p.m.
5. State of Our Art
The last session before the PromaxBDA Awards Show and one of the most-attended sessions every year, State of Our Art simply shows the best ideas of the past year.
BET Networks EVP/CMO Vicky Free joins BRaVe Ventures’ Co-Founder Jesse Redniss on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. for this year’s best of the best.
BONUS:
TEN Exhibit: This exhibition of artwork from some of today’s best photographers is open Tuesday at 10 a.m. through Thursday at 7 p.m. at PromaxBDA: The Conference just outside the Diamond Ballroom.
