Headed into season four of HBO’s Emmy-dominating drama, Succession, battle lines have been drawn with the three youngest Roy kids – Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Roman (Kieran Culkin) – officially opposing their father, Logan (Brian Cox), over control of the Roys’ media conglomerate Waystar Royco. Logan has decided to sell to tech billionaire Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgard), leaving the kids out of the picture.
“Here they are, the rebel alliance,” says the oldest Roy sibling, Connor (Alan Ruck), who mostly sits on the sidelines of these inter-family battles.
The teaser also seems to show cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun) firmly on Logan’s side, while Shiv’s husband Tom Wambsgans (Matthew MacFayden) is trying to make things right with her even though he betrayed her and her brothers to their father at the end of last season.
The season-four cast also includes J. Smith-Cameron, Peter Friedman, David Rasche, Fisher Stevens, Hiam Abbass, Justine Lupe, Scott Nicholson, Zoë Winters and Jeannie Berlin.
The series is executive produced by Jesse Armstrong, Adam McKay, Frank Rich, Kevin Messick, Jane Tranter, Mark Mylod, Tony Roche, Scott Ferguson, Jon Brown, Lucy Prebble, Will Tracy and Will Ferrell. Armstrong also serves as showrunner.
The teaser confirms that the series will return next spring after having gone into production last June.
