30 years after the release of Penny Marshall’s 1992 film A League of Their Own, Prime Video’s new drama inspired by that movie widens the lens of that original story.
The new series follows Carson (Abbi Jacobson) and Max (Chanté Adams) and a new cast of characters as they fight to do the thing they love – play baseball – no matter their race, color or creed.

The trailer, produced by Burbank, Calif.-based Tiny Hero, opens with editorial set to Benny Goodman’s iconic “Sing Sing Sing” and introduces Carson and Max and their fight to get included in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. The second half of the three-minute trailer is cut to Tina Turner’s “I Want To Take You Higher.”

Besides Jacobson and Adams, the series also stars Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, Devs), D’Arcy Carden (The Good Place, Barry), Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Kate Berlant, Kendall Johnson, Kelly McCormack, Alex Desert, Priscilla Delgado, Aaron Jennings, Molly Ephraim, Melanie Field and Dale Dickey.
The series is co-created and executive produced by Will Graham and Jacobson. Field Trip’s Hailey Wierengo and Desta Tedros Reff also serve as executive producers. Jamie Babbit directed the pilot and also serves as executive producer. A League of Their Own is based on the motion picture screenplay by Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel and based on a story by Kim Wilson and Kelly Candaele. It’s produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television in association with Field Trip Productions.
A League of Their Own premieres August 12 on Prime Video.
