With only four days left until the Presidential election, President Barack Obama will make his first-ever appearance on this week’s Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO. Viewpoint Creative created the above 30-second promo.
The host is scheduled to tape his interview with President Obama on Tuesday, Nov. 1.
Bill Maher’s show—which includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with guest panelists such as former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, actress Kerry Washington and conservative commentator Ann Coulter—has been renewed through 2018.
Even with a number of commentators competing for airtime this election season, Maher continues to draw a sizeable late night audience. The current season of the HBO series is averaging 4.4 million viewers (10 percent of which hail from HBO On Demand, HBO GO and HBO NOW), and is the most-watched season of the show since its 2003 debut, according to Broadway World. The premiere of the Oct. 14 show on the main HBO channel alone drew 1.7 million viewers, making it the most-watched telecast of Real Time in more than 13 years.
The executive producers of Real Time With Bill Maher are Bill Maher, Scott Carter, Sheila Griffiths, Brad Grey, Marc Gurvitz, Dean E. Johnsen and Billy Martin; co- executive producer, Chris Kelly; producer, Matt Wood; director, Paul Casey.
The special episode with President Obama airs on HBO 10 PM (ET), Friday, Nov. 4.
