​Last week, Gannett made a massive acquisition of the Belo Group; this week, several of those Belo stations have a new man in charge: Jack Sander.

The full terms of Sander’s involvement with the stations have not been released, only that he will head up a group in markets where Belo and Gannett both own stations: Phoenix, St. Louis, Louisville, Portland and Tucson. He will own one of the two station licenses in question in Tuscon.

A Belo Corp. senior adviser, Sander was a group president there previously and is a partner in MagicDust, a Phoenix TV production company.
