Picking up where The Suicide Squad left off, self-styled super(ish) hero Peacemaker (John Cena) is alive and well and back at work, although psychologically he’s a little the worse for wear and he’s got some issues to work on surrounding his withholding father (Robert Patrick).

Or perhaps he’s best off heeding the advice of his cohort Vigilante (Freddie Stroma): “Cut it out with the introspection. The mind is a den of scorpions better off running from not towards.”

Besides Cena, Patrick and Stroma, Peacemaker stars Jennifer Holland, Chukwudi Iwuji, Danielle Brooks and Steve Agee. The series is written and directed by James Gunn (The Suicide Squad, Guardians of the Galaxy). Gunn executive produces via his Troll Court Entertainment along with Peter Safran and Matt Miller. Cena is a co-executive producer. Warner Bros. produces.

Peacemaker debuts January 13 on HBO Max.
