TBS and Carmax team up in this animated spot by Miami-based 2C to remind viewers of the benefits of car travel, especially during this time when road-tripping seems to be the safest way to go.
“We created this concept long before Covid-19, travel restrictions and shooting regulations hit,” said Cheryl King, 2C creative director, in a statement. “We chose to pitch animated concepts to offer something different and unique to the sponsored content ‘scene’ where we typically see shoot-based integrated spots. We work with such talented designers and animators that we wanted to explore sponsorships and brand integrations in a new way – fusions of brand colors, fonts, key messaging and imagery for both the network and the sponsor.”
The 2D animated spot is created in a soothing palette of sea greens and light blues and is accompanied by line drawings, photography and motion graphics.
“For [this] CarMax integration, we explored a few different ‘Did You Know?’ stories we could tell, but ultimately settled on this idea of science and travel leading to happiness,” continued King. “It was a way to connect humans to travel in a time where human connection is truly essential, and people actually want to find new ways of travel – or revert back to old ways – hitting the road for a family road trip.”
