HBO unveiled a trailer for the biopic The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, premiering April 22.

The biopic is based on the best-selling book of the same name, and depicts the real-life story of Henrietta Lacks, whose cells were used without her permission to create the first immortal human cell line which led to unprecedented breakthroughs that changed the face of medicine—including the polio vaccine, in vitro fertilization, and gene mapping.

A teaser for the upcoming TV film, above, follows Lacks’ daughter Deborah (Oprah Winfrey) as she learns of what happened to her mother alongside journalist Rebecca Skloot (Rose Byrne) who writes the book on their findings.

“Hope I don’t regret this,” Winfrey’s character says after she agrees to Byrne’s Skloot writing the book.

“Science took her cells. Her family reclaimed her story,” notes the network in the trailer’s synopsis.

The biopic was written and directed by George C. Wolfe, and also stars Renee Elise Goldsberry, Rocky Carroll, Kyanna Simone Simpson, Courtney B. Vance, Leslie Uggams, Reg E. Cathey, Reed Birney, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, John Douglas Thompson, Adriane Lenox, Roger Robinson and Melvin Van Peebles.

The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is set to premiere April 22 on HBO.
