The Midnight Society lives on when Nickelodeon’s ‘90s cult classic, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, returns Friday, Oct. 11.
Nickelodeon released the reboot’s first full-length trailer on the eve of Friday the 13th. It shares “The Tale of the Carnival of Doom,” a story told by The Midnight Society’s newest member, Rachel, that comprises clowns, zombies, and an evil ringmaster.
But there’s a twist: the made-up story comes to life when the nightmarish carnival and its oddities come to town, posing danger and uncertainty for the group of story-telling teens.
The original anthology series ran 91 episodes between 1992 to 2000. It delivered terrifying stories of horror to young audiences, all from a kid’s perspective.
The reboot introduces a brand-new cast, including young actors Sam Ashe Arnold (The Adventure Club), Miya Cech (Always Be My Maybe), Tamara Smart (The Worst Witch), Jeremy Taylor (It: Chapter One and It: Chapter Two) and Lyliana Wray (Maximum Ride).
The three-part miniseries launches Friday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. (ET/PT).
