Netflix unveiled the official trailer for season two of their original series Fuller House, and is currently trending on YouTube.
The time-honored family sitcom created by Jeff Franklin, which enjoyed an eight-season run on ABC as Full House and is now a popular draw on the streaming service, finds the Tanner/Gibbler clan reuniting just in time for the holidays.
Most of the original Full House cast returns for season two, which centers around the sisters-turned-moms: D.J. Tanner (Candice Cameron Bure), Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), and Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber). Father Danny Tanner’s brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos, who is also executive producer of the Netflix series) and stand-up comic friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) also reprise their characters.
Bob Saget resumes his role as the affable dad Danny Tanner, whose character turns 60 and seems to be having quite an identity crisis. One moment of the clip shows the patriarch of the Tanner clan humorously blinged-out in gold chains, greeting his now-adult kids with teenage hip-hop speak. Later, in a vulnerable moment in the trailer, he confides to his daughter D.J. the anxieties he has with aging.
“I just turned 60 and I started thinking, what’s it all about.”
“We’re what it’s all about,” D.J. replies.
As if the throwback to the original Full House cast and set was not enough in the first season, the clip shows ‘90s heartthrobs New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) also making a cameo appearance with a musical performance.
Noticeably absent from the trailer are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen—who, as of yet, have not expressed interest in the Fuller House series.
Season-two of Fuller House premieres Friday, Dec. 9 on Netflix.
