The Netflix Marvel Universe juggernaut continued pumping its powerful pistons of might on Thursday as the Golden Globe-nominated Marvel’s Daredevil released an elegant new promo (above) in conjunction with the announcement of its Season 2 launch date: All 13 new episodes arrive March 18.

Continuing a recent Renaissance-ish art trend in television graphics, the spot portrays key moments from the series with painterly illustration, arrayed around a 3D chapel that channels Daredevil’s Catholic faith. The evocative voiceover culminates with one of the best lines of the year so far (and we haven’t even seen the episodes yet), as the priest tells our stricken hero, “Guilt can be a good thing – it’s the soul’s call to action.”

Continuing the adventures of blinded lawyer/superhero Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil will find the Man Without Fear facing new forces in Hell’s Kitchen, including a new adversary, Frank Castle, and an old flame – Elektra Natchios.

Marvel’s Daredevil is one of four Marvel-oriented shows in or already through the Netflix pipeline, with Marvel’s Jessica Jones already up and running, and Marvel’s Iron Fist and Marvel’s Luke Cage on their way. The main characters from each series will then team up for a Netflix-exclusive miniseries finale, Marvel’s The Defenders.
