When it comes to representing the LGBTQ community on television, Netflix is at the forefront, according to this year’s GLAAD Media Awards.

The streamer received seven nominations for the awards which honor fair, accurate and inclusive portrayals of the LGBTQ community, and the issues those members face, across film, television, music, journalism and comic books.

ABC, CBS and NBC were all a close second with six nominations each.

The nominations were presented by Star Trek: Discovery’s Wilson Cruz and Transparent’s Trace Lysette on Friday morning from the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.

This year’s 141 nominees also included 16 Spanish-language recognitions, and the organization added an “outstanding kids and family programming category.”

The 29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be held in Los Angeles on April 12 and in New York on May 5.

Netflix shows that received nods include One Day at a Time, Sense8, Godless, Easy— specifically the “Lady Cha Cha” episode, Master of None —specifically the Thanksgiving episode, and Spanish series Las chicas del cable and Ingobernable (Netflix)

At CBS, recognitions went to Doubt, Star Trek: Discovery, Survivor: Game Changers, soap operas The Bold and The Beautiful and The Young & the Restless and the Pure Genius episode “Grace.”

ABC was honored for Modern Family and When We Rise, along with The View episode “Laverne Cox and Gavin Grimm,” the 20/20 episode “A Boy Named Lucas,” the Nightline episode “Gay Purge?,” and the Good Morning America episode “DJ Zeke Thomas Goes Public.”

NBC received nominations for Superstore, Will & Grace, This Is Us, The Voice, Days of Our Lives and the NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt segment “Murders Raise Alarm for Transgender Community.”
