Netflix on Friday announced FYSee, a participatory exhibition space bringing the best of Netflix series to life for industry and guild members leading into Emmy voting this season. The multi-level, 24,000 square foot experiential space launches on Sunday, May 7, with a private kick-off party, and on Monday, May 8, FYSee will host an “In Conversation” with Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey as he discusses the show that started it all: House of Cards.
For the first time, the streamer’s FYSee will showcase an entire month of programming designed to bring together the industry with the shows, creators and talent they love in wholly new and unusual ways. FYSee seeks to combine diverse television, and one-of-a-kind conversations and events, with above and below-the-line displays and interactive installations to create the kind of singular experience which only Netflix could produce.
The space is anchored by programming and storytelling installations surrounding new leading contenders such as The Crown and Stranger Things that have already made an impact on the awards circuit. The Crown garnered Golden Globe wins for best TV drama and best actress as well as SAG Awards for both Claire Foy and John Lithgow in their respective categories.
Meanwhile, Stranger Things was lauded by SAG with the prestigious ensemble prize for drama series, and won the PGA’s Norman Felton Award for outstanding producer of episodic television, drama.
The program also features exhibitions from returning Emmy nominees and winners including House of Cards, Master of None, Grace and Frankie, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Bloodline and Narcos; new entries such as Black Mirror, One Day at a Time, Gilmore Girls, Marvel’s Luke Cage, Dear White People, A Series of Unfortunate Events, The OA, The Get Down and 13 Reasons Why; documentary programming Five Came Back, 13TH, Amanda Knox, Chef’s Table, Last Chance U and The Keepers; animated series BoJack Horseman; Sarah Silverman’s anticipated comedy special Sarah Silverman A Speck of Dust, among others; with thematic panels, additional events and special performances to be announced.
