Det. Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) and crew are preparing for one last ride around the NYPD’s 99th Precinct as the show’s eighth and final season premieres on Aug. 12.

Two episodes of the half-hour comedy will drop each week as the final ten line up to air.

Besides Samberg, the cop comedy also stars Andre Braugher as Captain Raymond Holt, who is troubled when he accidentally sends someone a “digital phallus portrait”; Stephanie Beatriz as Rosa, who informs Holt of the true name of such a photo; Melissa Fumero as Peralta’s wife and baby mama Sgt. Amy Santiago; Terry Crews as Lt. Terry Jeffords who never tires of showing off his muscles and Joe Lo Truglio as Det. Charles Boyle, Peralta’s partner.

Charles perhaps sums up fans’ feelings when he tells Jake: “I’m scared that my time with you will be cut short. No more stakeouts or drinks after a long shift, or midnight calls when you’ve had a breakthrough in a case. I’ve always had this image of us in our nineties, hunting down criminals at the retirement home. But I guess that was just a dumb fantasy. Jake, are you crying?”

In fact, he is, and so will fans as the show wraps its run this fall.
