​After the huge success of last year’s Premier League campaign on NBC Sports, the network is bringing back its famous face for another season.

Coach Ted Lasso, played by actor/comedian Jason Sudeikis, stars in the new campaign, but while before he was beginning his role as coach of London’s Tottenham Hotspurs, this summer he returns to the states after a brief stint in the world of on-air broadcast.

The six-minute campaign spot above, entitled “The Return of Coach Lasso,” follows his journey after his six-hour job as head coach of the Hotspurs onto a few sportscasting jobs (where he encourages fans to stalk a ref), onto a new coaching gig of St. Catherine’s Fighting Owls. The spot also includes a cameo by U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard.

The campaign was created in partnership with NY-based agency The Brooklyn Brothers, who was also behind last year’s marketing initiative for NBC’s Premier League coverage.

Brief Take: Coming off of soccer’s popularity after the World Cup, NBC Sports’ new campaign might have an even better chance to resonate with newly initiated soccer fans in the U.S.
