Who better to look back at hip hop in the ‘90s than MTV?

MTV will continue its tradition of recounting the best in music and pop culture from the 1990s through the mid-2000s in its new Retromania: Hip Hop Week, kicking off Monday, Jan. 27.

The network’s afternoon programming block will transform for that week in order to highlight interstitials with celebrities and artists like Kevin Hart, Backstreet Boys, 2 Chainz, One Direction and the cast of “Teen Wolf.” Each segment will feature the artist’s favorite moments from the ‘90s-2000s. MTV will also air reviews and looks back at technology and favorites from the era as well as games about hip hop culture.

The theme week will end on Saturday, Feb. 1 with the special “Retromania: Hip Hop.”
