“Every vote counts. But voting with a friend counts a little more.”

That’s the message MTV has for viewers in “+1 The Vote,” it’s first-ever campaign for the midterm elections which launched Tuesday in honor of National voter Registration Day.

The network debuted a series of public service announcements where celebrities encourage fans to make sure they bring a plus one to the polls in an effort to “harness the power of friendship and ignite the most powerful voting bloc in the country,” MTV said it a statement.

The PSAs featured talent such as boy band PrettyMuch, Jersey Shore’s Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Big Brother alum Frankie Grande, and Love & Hip Hop: New York star Erica Mena.

In a company-wide PSA, Viacom also highlights iconic friends, including MTV’s Polizzi and Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, VH1’s Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, Comedy Central’s Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob and Patrick Star.

MTV also debuted a “+1 the Vote” Registration Tool, a digital experience where users can register to vote, and activate unregistered friends to join them at the polls on November 6.

The campaign launched Tuesday to mark National Voter Registration Day.

Research suggesting social influence is a strong motivator in voter turnout serves as the cornerstone of the campaign.

A studies conducted by MTV and The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research show that young people feel a renewed sense of empowerment in their ability to impact politic, with 48 percent of 15-22-year-olds indicating they feel they have at least some effect on the government—up from 33 percent in March.

Meanwhile, 76 percent of young people said they think inviting friends to the polling station is an effective way to encourage others to vote, while 70 percent think posting about voting on social media is also effective.

As the November 6 midterm election draws closer, MTV has partnered with Civic Nation’s #VoteTogether campaign to supercharge youth voter participation through events at the polls across all 50 states. In addition, MTV News will roll out a series of videos featuring leading artists and celebrities breaking down the importance of the midterm elections, as well as a series highlighting young candidates across the country.

And after the polls close, MTV will host a concert on November 6th to celebrate young people turning out the vote.
