Pop icon Britney Spears will return to the Video Music Awards for the first time in nearly a decade.

She’s expected to perform her new song “Make Me…” featuring G-Eazy, and MTV released a teaser for when she hits the stage on Sunday, August 28.

The video features Spears’ voiceover as the camera pans through her dressing room as a snake slithers along the object strew about.

“The VMA’s don’t just give you a stage. They give you a story—some way of taking a fraction of a second and making it live forever,” she said. “Before you know it, it’s history. Before you know it, it’s Britney, bitch!”

The video is part of MTV’s VMA campaign that presents Madison Square Garden as a blank canvas. As each performer is announced, they’ll choose a signature Pantone color and message, and MTV will commission a visual artist or filmmaker to bring their words and vision to life in a content piece that will fill the blank canvas, and establish the scheme for the show.
