Mexicanal was launched in 2005 as a way to bring Mexican television programming to the United States.
Launched by Cablecom and Castalia Communications, Mexicanal was initially carried only by DIRECTV, but in the past decade it has expanded to distributors Comcast, AT&T, Charter and Cablevision.
So now, with Mexicanal’s growing audience in the U.S., the channel has revamped its on-air look to be brighter, bolder and more modern.
The channel’s new branding is accompanied by fun, upbeat music in the ident below:
The new look is a stark difference from Mexicanal’s old logo, below, which used orange and green on a stark white background instead of the colorful sheen it’s adopted this month.

Mexicanal airs original programs as well as content from state-run TV stations in Mexico and independent production companies. The channel operates from the city of San Luis Potosi in central Mexico. Its most popular shows include De Kiosko en Kiosko, Estrellas del Jaripeo, Ahí Viene la Marimba and Mexico de mis Amores.
