Matt Silvestri has been promoted to vice president and creative director, brand creative, said Josh Line, executive vice president, marketing and creative on Wednesday.

In his new role, Silvestri works closely with Vedia Ayvaz, senior vice president, brand creative, to produce, direct and oversee in-house marketing creative efforts across every platform for the cable-based comedy brand. Silvestri reports to Ayvaz and is based in Comedy Central’s New York City-based offices.

“Matt brings so much talent, experience and passion to Comedy Central, and to all of the award-winning creative work he shepherds,” said Line in a statement. “His leadership will be critical as we expand the aperture of this culture-defining brand.”

“It’s been an awesome 13 years and counting for me at Comedy Central,” added Silvestri. “I look forward to the honor, and privilege, of continuing to have a hands-on role in shaping the brand that shaped me.”

Silvestri began his career at Comedy Central in 2005, just days after graduating from Villanova University. He joined the company as a production assistant in the network’s on-air creative department, climbing through the ranks to his current perch. In that time he has served as creative lead on major campaigns including South Park Season 20, the launch of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, The Daily Show’s Democalypse 2016 election coverage, the Key & Peele Super Bowl Special, and seasons of Broad City, Corporate, Hood Adjacent, Inside Amy Schumer, Key & Peele, Workaholics and more.
