After spending more than a decade rotting in prison, uber-patriot MacGruber (Will Forte) is back. His mission: take down a villain from his past: Enos Queeth (Billy Zane). To do it, MacGruber reteams with his former partners Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and Lt. Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe). The series also stars Lawrence Fishburne, Sam Elliott, Joseph Lee Anderson and Timothy V. Murphy.
The above trailer, produced by Big Picture, gives fans a preview of the series’ comedy and action ahead of its Thursday, Dec. 16, premiere on Peacock.
Forte first introduced MacGruber as a spoof on MacGyver on NBC’s Saturday Night Live. The skit was then turned into a 2010 feature film starring Forte, Wiig and Phillippe.
Besides starring, Forte writes, executive produces and is co-showrunner along with Lonely Island’s Jorma Taccone and John Soloman. Lorne Michaels, John Goldwyn and Andrew Singer executive produce.
