Comedian and daytime talk show host Loni Love will host the Fourth Annual PromaxBDALocal Awards in Las Vegas in June, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The longtime comic and co-host of Warner Bros.’ upcoming syndicated panel talk show, “The Real,” will headline the annual gala dedicated to honoring the excellence and innovation in local television, marketing, promotion, and design.
“I’m very excited to be hosting this year’s PromaxBDALocal Awards,” Loni said. “Local broadcast affiliates are an important source of information and content for their communities. They create conversations and tell the stories that communities care about, and I’m looking forward to celebrating their work and telling a few jokes while I’m at it.”
The 2014 PromaxBDALocal Awards will be handed out at a gala luncheon June 26 during the fourth annual Station Summit event at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas. PromaxBDA Station Summit is the largest annual event for local broadcasters, and will feature creative and strategic meetings between broadcast affiliates, studios and station groups, as well as PromaxBDA speakers and sessions. Station Summit 2014 runs from June 24-27.
“We couldn’t be happier to have Loni hosting this year’s PromaxBDALocal Awards at Station Summit,” said Stacy LaCotera, PromaxBDA’s VP of awards and global competition. “She is a brilliant talent and a fantastic advocate for the local broadcast television community. We’ve seen significant collaboration and growth for the industry at our Station Summit events in the past and we’re looking forward to honoring all the great work from the past year.”
In addition to her standup work and duties hosting “The Real,” Love has been a frequent guest on “Chelsea Lately,” “Ellen,” and “Worst Week.”
