Electronic maestro Michael Angelakos’ Passion Pit will become the latest ”Live on Letterman” concert to stream live and engage fans around the world.
CBS Interactive’s “Live on Letterman” concert series has become a big-business digital spinoff to David Letterman’s late-night franchise, with such acts as John Legend, Alicia Keys and Mumford & Sons garnering more than 185 million views to date at CBS.com and VEVO. Fans who tune in live to the webcasts have access to interactive features such as the ability to switch between multiple camera angles, “Share the Moment” instant photos and even the chance to help pick the given act’s last song of the night. Available on-demand as well, the concerts stream across an array of platforms, including CBS Radio stations, Radio.com, the CBS App for the iOS, and of course all of VEVO’s related mobile and tablet apps, website, connected TVs and syndication partners.
Passion Pit airs on “Live at Letterman” Wednesday, September 4, 8:00 p.m. ET at CBS.com and VEVO.
Brief Take: “Late Night on David Letterman” is a relatively old show and it’s not getting any younger, but “Live on Letterman” exposes it to both pop music fans and mobile users, two youthful groups crucial in the quest to stay relevant.
