Lionsgate Television Group has promoted its former president, Kevin Beggs, to chairman.
Beggs, as part of a new five-year contract, will oversee development and production of all scripted and non-scripted content as he did before (with successes including “Mad Men,” “Weeds,” “Anger Management” and most recently “Orange is the New Black”).
Beggs joined Lionsgate in 1998, and under his leadership the TV division has leaped from $8 million in revenues in 2000 to almost $400 million in 2012.
