Name: Olivia Wong

Title: Senior Account Executive, WGBH National Marketing

Could you summarize your session in 5 words? Tapping into a television phenomenon.

What other speaker are you most interested in seeing at PromaxBDA: The Conference this year? So hard to choose, I’m not sure I can narrow it down to one! The star power – from Mark Ghuneim of Trendrr to Sean Casey of SocialGuide – is almost overwhelming.

How do you watch television content? A combination of an in-room television, my laptop and on my smartphone in a pinch.

What do you think is the most important trait of a leader? The ability to listen and consider other perspectives. Two heads are always better than one.

What is your greatest career achievement so far? Taking an iconic 40-year-old television series and fostering a new generation of fans through the power of social media.

What one piece of advice would you give to an up-and-comer in this industry? While keeping track of the latest trends is essential, it’s equally as crucial to think critically about how those trends figure (or don’t) in the overall branding/marketing strategy of your product.

How did you get your start in this industry? Internships, internships, internships! Immersing myself in multiple disciplines and learning from the wisdom of patient and generous mentors established a solid base, one that I continue to build on to this day.
