Could you summarize your session in 5 words? Succeeding as a marketing entrepreneur.

What do you think is the most important trait of a leader? Respect the opinions of your employees.

What is your greatest career achievement so far? Helping to create the Univision Agency.

What one piece of advice would you give to an up-and-comer in this industry? Never make a professional quantum leap. Learn all the jobs you can while going up the ladder. The people who work for you should know you really understand what they do.

How did you get your start in this industry? I was a professional musician going to film school. My brother owned a bar near the NBC station in Washington, D.C. where all the editors used to go after work. One night one of them asked aloud if anyone knew someone who wanted a job in television. My brother suggested me. I got a job as an assistant editor. It was 1972.
