In the wake of Wednesday’s tragic shootings in Virginia, USA Network has decided to postpone for one week its airing of the finale of hot summer show, Mr. Robot, because the episode includes a similar storyline.
“Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight’s episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time,” USA said in a statement.
Earlier Wednesday, WDBJ reporter Alison Parker and cameraman and photographer Adam Wade were shot down by ex-coworker Vester Lee Flanagan while reporting a live story.
Instead, Mr. Robot‘s season-one finale will air Sept. 2 in the show’s regular time slot at 10 pm ET. Tonight, USA will repeat the season’s penultimate episode.
Mr. Robot was created and is executive produced by Sam Esmail. Rami Malek and Christian Slater star.

Brief Take: While the scheduling change may be disappointing to fans who were looking forward to tonight’s finale, moving what would have been an especially upsetting episode in light of today’s events is the right decision by USA.
